He was the Chairman of the Company until his demise in 2022. “Karmayogi” was the word awarded to him by his peers. He provided the seed money to start the Company. He was the constant support behind the success of the Company. His career in the field of textiles spanned over 65 years. His skills in negotiation was unparallelled. His calm demeanor even in times of crisis has taken the Company through several storms. He was fiercefully honest and doesn’t beat around the bush. He became the full time Chairman of the Company in 2013 and worked tirelessly for the Company until the day he passed.

Popularly known as “Amma” or mother by her employees, she joined the workforce when she was fifty-one years old. She was a housewife for most of her life, but she came into the Company and focused on the main resource of the Company i.e. its manpower. In the initial stages of the Company, she stayed with her employees through the night to complete work and constantly took care of their requirements and well-being. She is currently 85 years, and this has not stopped her from working in the Company full time till date. She oversees the HR Department of the Company. She is a tough negotiator and is instrumental in breaking many societal taboos and empower the women workers of the Company.

The De jure and De facto founder of the Company. Earlier working in the automobile sector, he envisioned to start a new venture in the Garment sector back in 1990. During the pre-liberalization era, starting a garment unit outside Chennai and Bangalore was considered unthinkable. However, he broke those constructs and proved to the world that even Madurai is capable of manufacturing world class garments. He overcame several obstacles and set up the factory with just 40 machines. His dedication to quality and his futuristic vision has brought the Company to where it is today. His efforts over the years transformed the Company from a small-scale factory to a world class manufacturing facility.

There is no problem so grave, no crisis so complicated which cannot be satisfactorily resolved by him in 15 mins. Like his brother, he also previously worked in the automobile industry. The technical brains behind the Company, his knowledge on the operations and the working of machines in unparalleled. He has broken several stereotypes of the garment industry over the years and made the Company what it is today. His understanding of every nook and cranny behind the manufacture of a garment helped him train several women from small villages in Madurai into world class tailors, CAD designers, mechanics and pattern makers.

Initially having small production lines, over the years, the Company started to expand to bigger units with bigger lines and started dealing with big volumes. He took the lead and set up the big lines every time the Company expanded. He took up the task of setting up new factories of Penguin Garments Unit 1 & 2, Peacock Apparels Unit 1& 2 and Penguin Apparels Unit 4, 5 & 6, thereby instilling the same quality and process across all factories. He was instrumental in process setup across all operations of the Company. He worked to get the Company certified for all international standards thereby placing the Company on par with global players.
